Instruction professor appointment
  • With consultation with the principal professor of the affiliated department, guidance professor for 1st final thesis is appointed.
  • The thesis advisor can be changed from 2nd term after consultation with the advisor professor.
Requirement for Degree completion guidance
  • Ph.D. Course : At least one submission to a listed or listed candidate journal (including a SSCI-level journal) as first or communicating author.(does not have to be an exclusive author)
    If the co-author in listed or listed candidate journal (including a SSCI-level journal), the total sum has to be at least 100% (recognition ratio: 1st author:100%, 2nd author: 70%,
    3rd author: 50%, 4th author and over:30%) has to be published. the journal publication requirement has to be completed and checked by the head of the department,
    before degree claim application,
  • Participation in academic presentations and discussion meetings in graduate schools that areseparate from regular classes. These include presentation of dissertations for degree
    claims, presentation of dissertations for degree claims, collocium etc,
Language test
  • Implementation time : March, September 1-2 weeks (after start of class)
  • Subjects : English or Korean (Students with English as their 1st language)
  • Authorized Foreign Language test transcript may replace language tests
    • Authorized Foreign Language test transcipt : English(TOEIC, TOEFL, TEPS, G-TELP, IELTS, GRE, GMAT) / Korean(TOPIK)
Comprehensive Test
  • Examination Qualification
    • Masters’ degree : 18 or more credit completed and prerequisite courses completed. Within 7years of admission
    • Ph.D. : Acquired graduation credit or possible to complete them within the semester. Within 9years after admission.
    • Masters and Ph.D. Integrated course : Register for at least 6 semesters and acquired graduation credits, or possible to complete them within the semester.
      Prerequisite courses have to be completed. within 9 years after admission.
  • Test Implementation :April, October
  • Test Subjects : Three Master’s Cources major subjects, Four Master’s Ph.D. integrated or Ph.D. major courses

    • Mater’s degree : Communication Theory, Media Studies Methodology, one major selective subject
    • Ph.D. and Master's and Ph.D. Integrated Course : Communication Theory, Media Studies Methodology, two Major Selective Subject
    • Major selection courses can be freely chosen among the subjects students have taken

    • Test questions depends on the major of the department professor
    • Test method for major selection courses is determine by professor faculty meeting.

    • 60 points or more out of 100 for each subject.
    • Partial passing : Declared Partial passing if 2 out of 3 subjects for master’s and 3 out of 4 subjects for Ph.D. or master’s and Ph.D. integrated courses are passed.

  • Paper Research Plan
    • Submission Qualification : 18 or more completed credits for master’s, 33 or more completed credit for Ph.D. and 51 or more completed credits for integrated master’s
      and Ph.D. program
    • Time of Submission : Beginning of 3rd semester of master’s program, Beginning of two semesters before planned graduation of doctoral program.
    • Submission Process : Each student has to submit research paper plan to the head of the graduate school and he has to collect and distribute to other professors 1 week before
      presentation.
    • Passing Requirement : All of the Master’s Judges has to agree, 4 or more Ph.D. degree Judges has to agree
    • For students who has failed more than two subjects, professor faculty meeting will be held to decide on acceptance of research paper plan submission
  • Journal Submission Eligibility
    • Passing of language test, research paper plan and prerequisite subject completed
    • Master’s Dgree : Registration for 4 or more semesters and graduation credit completed or can be completed within the relevent semester
